Christmas is here. Instead of wasting time wondering when or how did this year fly by so fast, you better get ready for the festive season. Christmas trees, Christmas cards, Advent wreaths and Christmas lights come first to mind, but there is so much more to do and to decorate. Have you already been looking for some decorating ideas for your home or your business location (office, meeting room, lobby, hotel, restaurant, bank, etc.), but everything seemed so “mainstream”, “passé” or even tacky? Then keep on reading and find out how you can add a special touch of luxury to your Christmas decor, and make your interior truly elegant and unique.
Pendants Are Not Only for Jewelry
Although most of the people associate Swarovski with exquisite jewelry, this brand has so much more to offer. For any season, holiday or occasion – there is an appropriate shape of Swarovski pendant in range of colors. For this winter time and Christmas decor we find star and snowflake pendants perfectly suitable. And the best part about these is that after Christmas you can simply add a pinch bail and wear it as a pendant on a silver or gold chain necklace.
This pendant comes in 20, 25, 30 and 35 mm and in standard Crystal clear as well as in Crystal AB color. It is stunning how it catches, reflects and refracts light. Just imagine couple of these on your Christmas tree, surounded with some basic Christmas lights and you have your perfect Christmas decor.
DIY Christmas Ornament
If you are into arts and crafts, you can go a step further and make some Christmas ornaments by using Swarovski beads and pendants, or any other element. To make a Christmas comet like this one here, for example, we used:
- 7 Swarovski 5747 Beads (16×8 mm) in Crystal Metallic Blue and/or Crystal Lilac Shadow
- 7 Swarovski 6650 Pendants (22 mm) in Crystal.
If you would like to try it out, check out our step-by-step tutorial HERE.
Another idea is to make these adorable crystal angels. Not only that they make an unique Christmas decoration but also a perfect Christmas present for your beloved ones. To make one of these would need:
- 1 Swarovski 6000 Pendant in Crystal (001) in 22 x 11 MM size
- 2 Swarovski 6401 Pendant in Crystal Golden Shadow (001GSHA) in 14MM size
- 1 Swarovski 5328 Bead in Crystal (001) in 8MM size
Swarovski Lighting Elements Are Not Only for Chandeliers
Apart from an extensive range of loose crystals for jewelry making and textile embellishment, Swarovski also has a Lighting collection. Although this “Lighting” in the name implies chandeliers and other lighting objects, these elements are also being used for various home decor projects. Today we are showing you 2 of them that would make for a perfect substitute for standard Christmas tree balls.
Can you imagine Christmas baubles any more beautiful than these? Swarovski 8558 crystal balls are perfect for your Christmas decor as well as feng shui crystals at any time of the year. Available in 18 beautiful colors, ranging from 20 to 100 mm in size (varying with the color).
The most perfect Christmas Tree Star ever. A present that will last forever and something that you will want to save for your children and grandchildren as a symbol of tradition and a memory of family gatherings.
Beside Swarovski Crystals, we want also to show you some winter- and Christmas themed Hotfix Transfers that you can use for embellishing (almost) any kind of cloth or fabric. From window curtains, table cloths and table runners, napkins and placements, to the sofa and bed covers, bed linen, towels and bath robes. The possibilities and combinations are endless; you just have to choose some of the patterns and motifs offered.
Important Reminder: HOTFIX Technology
Hotfix elements have a coating of hot-melt glue on the back which is activated by heat and bonds with the carrier material. For larger projects that include crystals application to a production line of items we always recommend to use an industrial heat press, stone-setting machine, or ultrasonic device. On the other hand, for smaller projects, DIY creations, or for applying individual crystals, an applicator tool or household iron will do the job. Just make sure that the garment you’re using has good absorbency. You cent test this by applying a couple of water drops to the fabric of your choice. If the material quickly absorbs the drops – then you’re good to go. If water drops take longer time to be absorbed or they slide off of the fabric – the material offers insufficient absorbency, and therefore, should not be used for hotfix application.
Christmas Themed Hotfix Motifs
Now that we’ve reminded ourselves of basic Hotfix principles, let’s see these beautiful Swarovski Hotfix motifs that will bring some Christmas cheer to any kind of linen in your house.
11759 Transfer HF Snow
Sometimes more is less, as evidenced by this transfer. Made with descending sizes of crystal, this transfer is designed to create a gradient effect of falling snow. Suitable for any textile surface, but our suggestion is to try it out on curtains, for example.
10272 Transfer HF Snowflake
Created from a mix of sparkling Flat Backs and with its six-fold symmetry, the combination of icy-looking crystals captures the snowflake’s unique character. Use a motif on its own, or arrange several motifs in multiples to create a snowstorm to decorate textiles of your choice.
Who says that Christmas balls are made only for Christmas trees? With this Transfer you can put it wherever you want and in a second, you only need a household iron. Yeah, it is simple as that.
This crystal angel ornament will make merry addition to your peaceful Christmas decoration.
Use this crystal transfer in order to spread joy and happiness by decorating your living room textiles or by adding thematically embellished fabrics and cloths to your assortment.
And last but not the least: the Christmas tree. The most prominent holiday symbol in a form of crystal transfer that will easily find its place on curtains, table runners, napkins or anything you can imagine.
