1. Glam Up Your Horse Tack
Saddles, stirrups, bridles, whips and all other kinds of equestrian equipment don’t have to be simple and boring. You can express your sense of style by glamming up your horse tack with Swarovski Crystals.
Embellishing Your Saddle Cloth
If you want to embellish your saddle cloth, we suggest using one of Swarovski Transfers (also known as Transfer Motifs or Hotfix Motifs). They are easily applied to a garment of your choice by using heat (an iron or heat press). Transfers are available in numerous forms and designs, from flowers, stars and geometrical shapes to angels, emojis, and skulls. And thanks to our special motif service we can offer you a range of customization possibilities, e.g., change of size or elements in an existing motif or creation of your own motif. In this way you can create any motif you want, such as flags, symbols, logos, brand names etc.
Here you can see an example of a special motif we have made for one of our customers:
Glam Up Horse Bridles
For embellishing horse bridles with Swarovski Crystals we suggest setting Swarovski Round Stones (a.k.a. Chatons) in an empty cupchain. Round stones come in many different sizes, and depending on the space available on the raw leather bridle, you can either use sizes SS39 (8mm) or SS29 (6 mm). If you don’t feel like doing any DIY, then you can order one of the Swarovski cupchains already filled with crystals. Color and effect variations are endless, but you already got used to that with Swarovski, right? 😊

2. Adding Bling to Your Riding Outfit
When you set about to glam up your riding outfit it’s best to have your ideas down pat. Check online catalogs of riding gear to help you find ideas, or browse the high-end section of your favorite riding supply store. Find the designs that speak to you and your sense of style. You want to be tasteful, but impressively dazzling.
Once you’ve chosen your design it’s time to choose your crystals. There is a pretty big selection, and endless combinations for Swarovski crystals to glam up your riding outfit. There are also different methods for application.
Flat back crystals are the type of crystal you’ll be using. Swarovski flat back hotfix crystals come pre-glued. Once you apply heat (typically via your iron for a DIY project) your crystal becomes fixed to your garment. This type of application makes it easy to glam up your riding outfit pieces.
However, if you want more control, or are applying your Swarovski stones in an intricate design you will prefer the control you have with flat back no hotfix crystals.

How To Add Dazzling Swarovski Crystals to Your Riding Clothes
Before you begin adding your Swarovski crystals to your shirt, riding jacket, vest, or any other piece of clothing, make sure you have a large work surface, like a table. Next be sure you have plenty of light. The crystals can be difficult to see, especially after you’ve been working awhile.
If you’re adding a lot crystals to a large area then the hotfix crystals will work best. It’s not necessary to invest in a professional tool like a heat press, or applicator gun for application. A regular household iron (turn off the steam setting) should work well enough, just make sure to put them on a transfer foil (a.k.a. transfer film or hotfix tape) first. For all other designs, the preferred DIY method is the no hotfix crystals and a secure adhesive made to withstand laundering.
For clothing it is essential to place a barrier between the front and back of the garment. You can use an appropriate size piece of cardboard, or purchase a shirt-shaped piece of cardboard at your local craft store. This is to prevent the glue from seeping through to the other side of your shirt, jacket, or vest.
Begin with a clean garment and work one area at a time. Use a tray to keep your crystals organized. Apply glue to a small area as it dries pretty quickly. Use a tweezers to pluck your crystal and place it where you need it. Using a craft stick (or plastic swizzle-type stick) press the crystal into the garment. Once you’ve completed your design, allow 24-72 hours for your crystals to set.
Glam Up Your Boots, Belt, and Leather Pieces
Adding Swarovski crystals to glam up your boots, belt, or any other leather surface, isn’t difficult, but it can be time consuming depending on your design. If you decide to go with Swarovski flat back crystals, you’ll need to make sure to thoroughly clean the area where you’ll be applying the crystals. Also, you should rub the area lightly with a fine grain sandpaper to rough it up a bit. This allows the crystals to adhere much better.
However, we strongly advise using Swarovski Rivets for embellishing leather surfaces. These are ideal for situations when crystals need to be particularly securely fastened. They are made of a SS29 (6 mm) Xirius Chaton in one of the most popular Swarovski colors set either in stainless steel or gold-, silver-, gunmetal- and rose gold-finished brass.

Use colors that coordinate with your apparel. Swarovski crystals are true to color and the quality of Swarovski means you can count on your crystals to maintain their sparkle, wash after wash. Should you lose stone here or there you can easily replace and repair your design in no time.
