Swarovski crystals come in many different cuts, shapes, sizes and colors. If we take into account all colors + foiling + coating + effect combinations we come to more than five hundred (500) color options altogether. Well, at least in theory. In reality, this number varies. Not every Swarovski element is available in every color. And even if some item is available in a particular color, it doesn’t mean that this color is available in every size.
Swarovski Color Range Variations and Changes
As previously mentioned, Swarovski offers a plenty of colors you can choose from. However, the color range varies by size and shape of a particular crystal. To illustrate this, let’s have a look at Swarovski 1122 Round Stone (also known as Rivoli). It is one of the Swarovski most popular crystals mostly used for jewelry design and fashion applications. Generally speaking, it is available in 10 sizes and more than 80 colors. But not every color is available in every size, though. For an example: this Rivoli comes in 10 different sizes in the color Crystal Aurore Boreale while only 2 sizes are available in the new color Crystal Buttercup.
Furthermore, Swarovski introduces new colors/effects every season, i.e. twice a year. Usually, they produce only a couple of best selling items in these new colors. Consequently, they also take some colors out of production. Sometimes completely and sometimes they just withdraw some of the cuts and/or sizes in a particular color.
Another common Swarovski practice is to transform a standard color into a special production color. This means that a previously normally available item in a given color (or size) now has to be ordered (and produced) in extremely large quantities. The usual minimum order quantity (MOQ) is 14 400 pieces and production takes 4-6 weeks. Additionally, you have to pay 20% for special production surcharge + agree to 10% over or under production.
Due to these Swarovski practices it can happen that an item you use and purchase a lot suddenly isn’t available anymore. At least in a particular size. But we have a solution to this problem, read more about it below.
Demand for Personalized Design
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to create your own, unique Swarovski crystal color? One that no one else would have? Or have you ever felt like the variety of the standard assortment does not satisfy your need for uniqueness? And our answer to this rising demand for personalized design in today’s world of mass production is a special coating service.
Special Coating Service
Special coating is our exclusively offered service. Basically, it means that you can design new, your very own and special color(s) of Swarovski crystals. In this way you have even more possibilities for combining and creating a really unique color, a really incomparable piece of jewelry, garment, accessory, etc.
How does it work?
You choose your crystals from standard Swarovski assortment and we have it custom coated for you. It´s simple as that.
Which crystals can be custom coated?
Well it depends on which crystals you choose to start with and on the desired outcome.
Crystals in standard (normal, clear) colors without metal foiling (i.e. without metal back) can have any type of coating or special effect. Such crystals are pendants, beads, lighting elements and some of the round stones and fancy stones.
For example, you can take this Swarovski 6228 Heart Pendant in the color Blush Rose and put a Vitrail Medium coating on it. Or any other color + coating/effect combination.
Foiled crystals, such as flat backs and foiled round stones, fancy stones or sew-on stones, can only have a custom made Aurore Boreale (AB) coating. Here is an example – Swarovski 1122 Rivoli in the new color Majestic Blue with custom made AB coating:
How much does this special coating service cost?
30 % surcharge of the net wholesale price. MOQ (minimum order quantity) is one factory pack, i.e. 144 pieces. Hence, 100 times less than with Swarovski special production items.
